GFI was invited to attend a luncheon between former Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Sydney business people

On March 14, former Australian Federal Prime Minister Tony Abbott specially invited many business elites and local government officials to have lunch. Mr. Eric Yuan Lin, President of GFI (Global Fortune Investment Limited), attended as a representative of GFI. During the dinner, everyone expressed their opinions on Australia's economic and cultural development. The discussion covered many aspects and angles of Australia’s current economic life, from business models in emerging industries to the management operations of large enterprises. Everyone expressed their views in their respective business fields.

As the 29th Prime Minister of Australia, Tony Abbott shared with the guests his experience in politics and the economic issues he has been concerned about.

Regarding Australia's future economic prospects, Mr. Eric Yuan Lin elaborated on his views. Focusing on the political, economic, and cultural exchanges between China and Australia and Australia and the United States, he analyzed Australia's future performance in the global GDP ranking. Judging from available data, Europe will gradually lose its advantage over rapidly developing Asia in the next thirty years. By 2050, India may surpass the United States to become the world's second largest economy, and Indonesia may become the world's fourth largest economy. The situation in Australia is not optimistic. It will drop to 23rd in 2030 and even 28th in 2050.

In addition, Mr. Eric Yuan Lin believes that emerging economies have long-term economic potential, but realizing this potential requires the government to implement pro-growth policies to attract enterprises, investment and talents. Policymakers should aim to revive stagnant global trade growth, participate in global markets, and support the global mobility of goods, services, and people.
